Meet the founders
We’re sharing stories of some incredible founders who stand up and show up for the community.
good light
Co-Founder David Yi (he/they)
Inspiration behind the brand
Good Light is about beauty beyond the binary—the idea of shopping for beauty by gender is antiquated. I wanted to bring forth the notion that beauty is democratized for all.
Pride in the community
We support True Colors United, a non-profit that helps eradicate homelessness that disproportionately affects the trans and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Polite Society
Founded by Jerrod Blandino (he/him) & Jeremy Johnson (he/him)
Inspiration behind the brand
After 25 years in the beauty industry, we wanted to use our knowledge, creativity and positivity to create artistry-level makeup with skin care benefits that allows you to fully express yourself.
Pride in the community
As brand founded by a married gay couple of 29 years, we wanted Polite Society to be a place where you could feel not just accepted, but celebrated for being the one-of-a-kind, beautiful person that you are.
Madison Reed
Founded by Amy Errett (she/her)
Inspiration behind the brand
I started with a simple mission: to provide gorgeous, salon-quality hair color, made with ingredients you can feel good about.
Pride in the community
Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging is unwavering and rooted in our belief of representing diverse and unique perspectives, identities, and lived experiences across all team members and into our communities.
OLEHENRIKSEN
Founded by Ole Henriksen (he/him)
Inspiration behind the brand
I had my own spa in Beverly Hills and would whip up custom formulas for my celebrity clients—the positive reaction inspired me to create my first collection of skin care products.
Pride in the community
Born from my journey as a proud gay man, the OLEHENRIKSEN brand has always been supportive of the LBGTQ+ community through inclusion in our creator programs, Pride events and support of The Trevor Project and GLAAD, among others.
about-face
Founded by Halsey (she/they)
Inspiration behind the brand
As a performer doing their own makeup, I was frustrated with the lack of options that balanced the intensity of performance with creative artistry. About-face celebrates individuality and identity affirmation.
Pride in the community
We’re building an inclusive space where everyone feels seen, safe and celebrated and work with queer creators to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. Our products are tools to express your identity, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Andrew Fitzsimons
Founded by Andrew Fitzsimons (he/him)
Inspiration behind the brand
After 23 years as a celebrity stylist, I was inspired to create a brand for all hair types at an affordable price that allows everyone to be uniquely themselves.
Pride in the community
As an LGBT brand owner, I’ve been working within my community for years. I started the Trans Cosmetic Donation Program at the Trans Wellness Center to promote the needs of the Trans and gender non-conforming communities.
