Far from purrfection
Hair Type Straight Hair
My short hair kitty Seti sheds a lot and I've been looking for a brush to help me stay on top of his grooming. I love the Tangle Teezer I have for my own hair so I thought I'd give this a try. Unfortunately, it didn't actually manage to remove any of his shed fur. Instead, it all stayed in place as the bristles moved smoothly through. At least he didn't mind being brushed with it, I guess. I did notice that the bristles are slightly stiffer than the ones on the brush I use and I wonder if that extra stiffness is the reason why the brush slides through my cat's fur but doesn't actually manage to snag any of the loose stuff. It might work better on a kitty with a heavier or longer coat, so I gave it three stars, but for my guy it was a no go.
No Meowy
The only reason I got this to try was due to the fact it was on sale. I normally get a dual sided brush with plastic coated metal on one side and a normal type hairbrush for smoothing. Flash (my cat) is a long haired Tuxedo and he is shredding like crazy. I let Flash sniff it and then started brushing him. I use a tangle teaser for my hair or OG. This is pointier and stiffer than my personal brush. He hated it. He wrapped his paw over my hand and tossed it. Its over priced. Save your money and get something better.
My cat loves this brush
My cat son absolutely loves when I brush him with this brush. Initially, the reason I got it was because whenever I brushed my own hair with my Tangle Teezer, he would run over and grab my brush and push it against his head. I started brushing him with it and he loved it. But then I had his hair all over my brush. So when this brush magically showed up for me on Ulta, I decided to get it for him and I'm so glad I did because it was a hit. I wish there was a handle because it gets knocked out of my hand easily. I guess I could just buy a regular Tangle Teezer brush because the only difference is that this brush is paw-shaped, which is cute but unnecessary for my needs. I'm just happy my little one loves it so much and asks for it daily.
Great for senior cats
My super senior longhaired cat loves this brush. I purchased it for her from Ulta during the last Black Friday sale and have been using it since it arrived. It's perfect for removing small matts from her coat and is much gentler than the combs I was using. This brush can't do everything but it's perfect for keeping my cat matt-free and removing loose hair in-between trips to the groomer.
