Hi there! If I wear SPF and minimal makeup, would using the cleansing oil be sufficient to remove everything or would you suggest a double cleanse? If I double cleanse is it safe to cleanse 2x with this oil? Thank you so much!
- Asked by Briggy Stum
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! The Cleansing Oil provides a deep cleanse and is great for end-of-day cleansing, particularly if you wear face makeup, eye makeup, sunscreen, and/or foundation that are tough to remove. You may use it as a double-cleanse if needed (or use a different cleanser of your choice for the double-cleanse). Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Does this product need to get washed off with a water rinse after rubbing off with wet wash cloth? Or is the washcloth cleanse sufficient? Thanks.
- Asked by Angie
- Official Answer By Mad HippieThanks for reaching out! To oil cleanse: Generously apply Cleansing Oil to the skin as the first step of your evening routine (although it can certainly be used in the morning if you like as well!). Massage Cleansing Oil into the skin for at least 45 seconds or so to dissolve excess sebum/makeup, etc. Lay a warm, damp washcloth over the face and leave on until cool (for at least one full minute). Gently wipe away the Cleansing Oil, along with the dirt, excess sebum, makeup and impurities from the day. You may double-cleanse if you'd like and then follow with your evening serum. Highly recommend for DOUBLE CLEANSING
I see a ton of comments about not liking this oil because it's very heavy and hard to removed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING IT AS A FIRST-STEP DOUBLE CLEANSER! I use it to remove makeup, products, etc. It does take me a few pumps (maybe 2-3, so I run out every 2-3 months), but it goes on the skin well a...

Worst Cleansing Oil I have ever Used
I used this product to cleanse my skin for 8 weeks. I was excited to switch to something clean and with so many raving reviews. I used this for 8 weeks only this brand and their skincare line. Week 8 approached and I had white heads, blackheads, chin breakouts ( those really intense cluster breakout...

not effective
i have trouble taking off my makeup with this and i have irritation around my eyes after use
Love.
I love this cleanser, although i have not really tried any other oil cleansers. It's moisturizing, not stripping and keeps my skin clear. I use this at night, then follow up with La Roche Posay (?) Effaclar cleanser and my skin has never been clearer. This does not foam up and you should follow up with a different cleanser while using this. I've repurchased multiple times, the price has increased but so has everything else in the world. I love mad hippie and love that it comes in a glass bottle so I'm not using more plastic,
Not Emulsifying
I'm used to cleansing oils emulsifying, so I was surprised when this one didn't. When washing it off, there was still oil left behind, which made my skin feel soft and supple, but not clean. The little pump that came with the bottle was also prone to leakage and doesn't have a locking mechanism.
Fungal Acne
I have never experienced fungal acne, until I started using this. It gave me soooo much fungal acne on my forehead and once I stopped using this I was able to clear it up. I do not recommend this at all. I would say that if you also expired this reaction, using a benzoyl peroxide cleanser helped me so much. I have sensitive skin so I don't go above 2.5% but if you can I'm sure a higher percentage would clear it up even quicker.
It was okay
Not my favorite, but not the worst ive ever used. Amount of product is very little, but also you don't need to use much. I feel like it sits on the surface of my skin and doesn't break down the grime of the day as much.
