This is important because harsh surfactants an strip the hair of natural oils that protect the fiber and they can irritate the scalp. It also helps strengthen hair and helps reduce loss due to breakage. Adding strength to thinning hair is also important; when hair is thinning, it's because the follicle shrinks and as the follicle shrinks your hair miniaturizes and the fiber becomes very susceptible to breakage, so not only do you lose hair at follicles that stop producing hair, but then you lose density because of hair breakage. I was looking for something for thinning hair. someone at the store recommended this brand but she told me to use the regular. We didnt talk about how my hair is color treated. Will this color treated shampoo also work for thinning hair?

I would ABSOLUTELY buy this product again
I get my hair bleached out every 4 weeks to do multiple colors in my hair at Ulta and it caused my hair to get damaged! So my hair stylist Charlie who is awesome there at Ulta decided for me to use kerinque and in 4 weeks my hair had gotten so much healthier we could not believe it!

It's okay
Bought instead of super-pricey MLM shampoo for thinning hair. It's just ok. I expected that it wouldn't lather bc of lack of sulfates. The smell is pleasant enough. I don't think shampoo is on my hair long enough to justify the cost maybe, but if I switch and my color fades, then maybe I would repur...

The smell / perfume made this impossible to use

Since Ulta no longer carryies Bosley shampoo, I thought I would try this Keranique. When I got home, I just smelled the shampoo and unfortunately, I knew I could not use this. The perfume smell was overwhelmingly awful.
Not for me
I have vivid red hair and it seemed like so much color was washing away. Even after the conditioner, hair felt so rough...and that root lifter, the smell! Accidently inhaled and it was horrible. Strongest chemical smell ever.

Hair Type Wavy Hair
I just started using this system, so I can't tell if it's really making a difference yet. I liked the leave in detangler spray. It adds some thickness without being sticky. The shampoo and conditioner are fine, and are a decent size. The regrowth spray is not all that easy to sue because it doesn't seem to spray that well, and instead the product just kind of trickles out and runs down my face. I will keep adjusting the way that I apply it to try and prevent this.
Maybe got a bad bottle?
Hair Type Straight Hair
I suppose I could say this shampoo reduced shedding, though after using almost an entire bottle, I honestly can't see a difference in the thickness of my fine, aging hair. What's worse is that this shampoo is incredibly thick and gloppy; I have to REALLY SQUEEZE the bottle to even get any to come out. I may have gotten an old bottle, where the product solidified into one big lump? IDK. I'm not wild about this stuff, but several sources tell me it's "THE BEST" for thinning hair, so I guess I'll stick with it. Reluctantly.
Good Shampoo, Bad Bottle
I have been using the Keranique shampoo and conditioner for several months. I am 40 and have very fine, oily, thin hair that is color treated. I was experiencing hair loss and experimented with multiple shampoos. This shampoo is gentle on my colored hair and has definitely helped with hair loss and breakage, which is wonderful. It takes a bit of work to get a good lather, but it does lather well and rinse clean. It doesn't weigh my thin hair down and cleans well. My biggest complaint is the bottle. It is unnecessarily hard to squeeze and is overdue for a remake. The scent isn't my favorite either, but is tolerable. Overall a good product that could really be great with a few minor tweaks.
