I was skeptical to purchase because some reviews were saying that the smell was awful/strong. I agree that it can be strong when applying to dry hair. I choose to apply on damp hair after showering and the smell diffuses just fine! I enjoy the scent
A MIRACLE!
I've been using Nioxin's Ultimate Power Serum for two weeks and noticed a difference from the first use. After struggling with hair loss for a while—thinning, breakage, and clumps falling out in the shower—I was hesitant to even brush my hair. I tried countless products with no success until I found this one. The scent is strong, but it works. My hair sheds far less, breakage has significantly decreased, and my shower drain is nearly hair-free. This is the only product that has truly made a difference, and I don't know what I'd do without it.

I take a medication that causes (alot of) hair loss. I purchased this to try & after the first use i noticed a difference. After 5 uses i now have less hair loss than before i was even taking the medication! This definitely works… i agree with the others, the smell is a challenge but im getting used to it

Unfortunately, it was too late to return this product. As much as I wanted to love this I couldn't personally get past the masculine scent. I'm a female that prefers subtle scents or no scents in hair/body, but that's just me. I guess I'm sensitive to heavy scents. I read in the reviews that the smell is science related that helps hair grow. I hope that Nioxin continues to do research on ingredients that promote hair growth. If others are not bothered by this scent, this is for you. Perhaps it is a great product, but I just couldn't handle the smell.
