So, as I had written...

So, as I had written about Kristin Ess's curl shampoo, I have curly hair and regularly use a Co-wash in place of shampoo and conditioner. I thought that this conditioner would have plenty of slip and would feel ultra conditioning, but unfortunately this conditioner didn't have enough slip for my cur...

Hair is so sad

Submitted 20 days ago

By Jae

From Colorado Springs, CO

I started out really loving Kristin Ess products, especially the price point as a wavy haired girl with sooo many products. After about 6 months of using the moisture rich curl shampoo and conditioner, my hair is so dry, ends are crunchy, scalp itches, and it just feels incredibly sad. I thought it was maybe just winter and started using some intense moisturizing hair masks which made my wash days with these products the obvious problem :(

Smells divine, but itchy scalp and hair loss

Hair Type Wavy Hair

I wanted this to work because it smells so lux but my scalp gets itchy to the point where it started getting crusty and then I started losing hair. I will continue to use the products in this line that don't touch my scalp but can no longer use the shampoo or conditioner.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

A couple years ago, I started my ~hair journey~ after I found out my dad had super curly hair before he went bald. I experimented with hair products for medium-curly, not super thick hair; I had success with Mielle products but they stopped carrying my favorites in most local stores. I randomly tried the smaller size of this shampoo + conditioner last month & it's made a huge difference. My hair looks thicker & the curls are much more defined. People at work have even mentioned it. I'm usually oily rather than frizzy but I notice most curl conditioners are either too heavy or drying & this one is neither. I do usually wash daily but with thin white people hair that I don't want to style (and with showering being such a part of my routine), I doubt that'll change. Just wanted to mention that in case other white people with thin, medium-curly hair found this too heavy for their hair (:

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Love this conditioner

I loved this conditioner during my transitioning journey from applying heat to my hair every day to letting my hair do its natural wavy/curly thing. I have purchased it a couple times but I have noticed my hair is getting oiler faster so I will probably be switching products but I may keep this one in the rotation if my hair ever gets dry again.
