Summary
Zoya Naked Manicure Naked Base is a nutrient rich formula specifically created to refine the nail surface and treat damage with a proprietary blend of vitamins, proteins, botanicals and sulfur amino acids to mimic the natural nail's keratin structure.
For Best Results:
- Prep the nail by shaping, gently buffing and cleaning up cuticles.
- Apply Naked manicure Naked Base (basecoat).
- Select the Naked Manicure Perfector first coat. Use lavender for discoloration. If layering more than one shade, use the brighter/stronger shade first.
- Apply the selected Naked Manicure Perfector second coat. If between shades, the second coat is for the color that softens or tones the base color.
- Apply Naked Manicure Tip Perfector along free edge of the nail to brighten, fill and finish.
- Activate Naked Manicure Satin Seal by gently rolling the bottle between hands for twenty seconds.
- Apply one coat of Naked Manicure Satin Seal to blend, blur and seal the look creating the closest ever natural nail finish (compatible with fast drops).
- For an optional shiny finish, apply one coat of Naked Manicure Glossy Seal over Satin Seal (compatible with fast drops.)

It took me a while to isolate the cause after it happened a couple times, but if I use this base coat continuously, my nails start like...flaking off halfway up? peeling? I had never experienced this before with any base coat from any brand, or the old Zoya Anchor (that isn't a great base btw but didn't wreck my nails). The damage wasn't permanent, and my nails have finally grown back out after I threw it away. I still like Zoya polish and the glossy seal top coat but use the original OPI Nail Envy under them.

I bought this Naked Base clear polish in July of 2022 to replace an old clear polish I had that contained harmful ingredients. Used the new polish a few times and it served it purpose just fine. The little box it came in was tiny and cute so I've left it in the box when it hasn't been in use (ha). Recently, I discovered that a somewhat common nail polish ingredient, Benzophenone-1, is one that should probably be avoided. I did another nail polish purge and found that this ingredient was listed on the Zoya box of this clear polish. I was bummed out enough to check out some details online...come to find the ingredients list here on Ulta is different. Now, at first I assumed it's just been a while and so they must have reformulated. But THEN, one ingredient stood out to me: Triphenyl Phosphate, also known as TPHP; one of the very ingredients Zoya's brand (and the box in my hands) has proudly proclaimed none of their polishes contain! I decided to see what the actual bottle said on the back and couldn't believe it -- the ingredients don't match. The box lists one thing and the bottle lists another, that is, the Triphenyl Phosphate list we currently (and correctly, it seems) see on Ulta's product listing. I was already disappointed to discover Zoya now has the Benzophenone-1 in their polishes (every current colored polish I have checked does have it, whereas my two older ones do not), that is just a general bummer, but now I have lost trust in the brand as a whole. Not only have they mismatched ingredients lists on their packaging, but they have also added an ingredient they have clearly stated they do not use. Whether or not the ingredients we question are actually harmful, if you say it isn't there, follow through and deliver on your promise. Don't tell us one thing and then do another.
Good product
Very good base coat for a decent price. I always apply this base and the Zoya glossy top coat when I paint my nails, and the color usually lasts about a week looking good. Since I'm used to this product, I'll probably keep repurchasing.
sticky and dries quickly
this does its job! no staining, fast drying, and acts like a sticky base for the nail polish color!
