Better than the original!
So I've used the original Porefessional primer for years. I would try others every so often, but Benefit makes them the best. Because I'm getting older and I now live in a city where winters are much harsher, I've needed to change my makeup regimen to something with more hydration. And OH MY GOODNES...

So I went on a little shopping spree for myself at Christmas as I was looking for some items to help with my newly dry to combo skin. if it feels, your not adding enough or rubbing to hard
if it is peeling then your not adding enough and rubbing to much and hard, it is a great primer once you learn the technique of the application lol, best under the eyes and you will not only see results but feel the hydration... I love the texture and color of the primer doesnt cause any casting!!! please remember if it starts to peel up, added more and rub lightly this primer feels wet for awhile and that is why so many keep trying to rub it in, rub it lightly in and let it dry you will feel it plumping NO PAIN OR TINGLE and again best for under eyes and forehead 😊

Pill City!! Hello splotchy
I used to love this primer back in the day. I recently repurchased it thinking it would still be a great product and now a hydrating version. That was not the case. The primer emphasized my pores, dried out my skin, and was super sticky. The worst part is how bad it made my makeup pill off. By the end of the hour my makeuo was splotchy, pilling off, and actually clumping on my face.
Hydrating primer
This is a great hydrating primer. For reference I have combination skin, but mostly dry. This does not pill on my skin. It goes on beautifully. I followed with both Lancome as well as Anastasia foundations this primer works well with both foundations. I follow with hour glass loose powder. Skin looks flawless all day long. I'm going to guess the low reviews are coming from people with very oily skin.

No matter when I apply this in my skincare routine, it always pills up. This is the exact opposite of its purpose! Even when I wait HOURS between moisturizer and primer. It's nothing like the regular POREfessional primer. If anything, it's actually less moisturizing. Total waste of money IMO.
