Does this product contain sulfates

- Official Answer By Nioxin - Brand EngageYes, there are sulfates in the shampoo. Sulfates have recently gotten a bad rap as being bad for you and your hair. What you need to know is that sulfates are the ingredient that cleanses the hair. One would need to consume a large quantity of them to have negative results. We use only the highest-grade sulfates – which provide cleansing necessary without pulling color or damaging the hair. Optimal levels are contained in our products which leave the hair clean without over drying. We offer a very nourishing formula overall, which is gentle on the skin and hair. The SLS (sulfates) used are in the international regulatory permitted range, they have been tested extensively for decades to ensure customer health and safety. Most of what we hear is a myths that come from a "sulfate free" marketing campaign or company. Harsh sulfates will most likely always pull color from the hair and cause dryness. Gentle sulfates with the proper formulation of other ingredients will keep hair color in longer than most sulfate free shampoos. Sulfate free shampoos most often do not cleanse the hair thoroughly enough to rid it of dirt, oils, product and environmental debris. This causes more dirt to attach to the hair and the formation of free radicals. Free radicals cause the fading of hair color. To protect color treated hair we have the Pro-Color Shield technology that prolongs hair color. The relationship between sulfates and hair color is not straight forward. The appearance of a sulfate in a shampoo does not automatically determine the "safeness" of the product. All of our products are tested extensively to ensure their safety for consumer use. Something changed severely damaged hair
I have no idea what happened with the Nioxin shampoo/conditioner that I purchased through Ulta. I dont know if Nioxin has changed their formula or if I received fake products but we've been using this product off and on for literally decades without incident and two weeks of washes with this shampoo/conditioner fried my hair to the point it was breaking off ljke straw. I've never dyed my hair (ever…I'm in my 40's i know I'm boring) but it was breaking off like those videos of people who have over bleached their hair. I've been using Olaplex for a month to try to save it and that seems to be helping but I'm going to have to cut quite a bit of it off to deal with the weird thin look at the mids/ends. It's too late for a refund and I'm NOT happy.

I have tried numerous products for thinning hair. This one REALLY works. The foam is so easy and light on my roots and I can see the new growth. The shampoo and conditioner simply helps my new hair feel thicker and healthier. I use the green 2 nioxin because it best suits my hair.
