First Time Using Setting Spray... I am unamused.

I'm about to be 37 and had never used setting spray before so I took advantage of Tarte's recent 4-for-$50 and chose this as one of the items in order to see what all of the "omg setting spray!!!" fuss is about. In all fairness due to my lack of experience with any other setting spray products I... feel like it might be a little unfair to leave this such a low-to-average rating. I was going to rate it lower but decided not to because hey maybe I just don't know what I'm doing or maybe this/any setting spray is for super done-up looks and I don't wear enough make up for this to even matter. That'd be user error and I like all of the Tarte products I have tried thus far so I want to be fair. (Side note - I just started purchasing/trying Tarte products a month or so ago when I finally started overhauling my makeup arsenal due to a fun skin situation that left me not wearing a speck of makeup for over a year. Said issue is reason I had to overhaul - I already have sensitive skin and now I have an additional laundry list of ingredients I have to avoid .... joy.) I do find the very light scent it has to be pleasant and it doesn't feel sticky or wet or anything once dry. I actually find it kind of refreshing on contact! It also has not irritated my skin in any way nor has it had any other negative side effects/impact. My only "issue" if you can even call it that is that I do not notice any difference in the longevity of my makeup when I do and do not use it. What little makeup I DO wear transfers off very easily (towel clothes mask my hand when I'm dumb and absentmindedly even barely touch my face) and I haven't noticed any other added benefit of using this. I live in Texas and while I have only been able to try using this in cooler/cold weather as opposed to our usual swamp-nasty summer (almost year-round) heat and humidity I really do not see this spray doing me any extra favors when that usual heat returns. Bottom line - I am still debating whether to return this and one other item if I am able to do so. But one other thing - I just received deluxe samples of UD's setting sprays so I am going to try those out as well and possibly a couple of others. If I find that I personally have the same experience with all of them I will chock it up to setting spray in general just being an over-hyped product and maybe edit this review with any differences I notice if possible or write another one if necessary.
