Q
What metals is it made of? Does it contain led or nickel? I see concerning reviews saying the product sheds metal flakes on their skin that leave behind a grey residue

Official Answer By Tweezerman - Brand Engage
Hello, thank you for reaching out. Our smooth finish facial hair remover is made from stainless-steel which contains nickel. We advise to clean your tool with an alcohol wipe after each use and allowing it to fully dry before putting it away to keep your tool long lasting! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Does it hurt?
Asked by Veronica
Official Answer By Tweezerman - Brand Engage
Unfortunately, pain level varies from person to person, so there is no definitive way to guarantee that the Smooth Finish Facial Hair Remover will not hurt since it is removing hair via epilation. One recommendation that may help would be to use hot water or steam before use as this will open pores and may make it easier for the hair to be pulled from the root. You can also try applying a cold compress after use to help soothe the skin and reduce any irritation. Was this answer helpful to you

The Bearded Lady

So this is great for removing my facial hair. I get a mustache and pretty significant chin hair...I could literally be the Bearded Lady on this season of American Horror Story (I'm exaggerating, but it's still pretty bad). It's gotten to the point where I have to use my micro trimmer every other d...

First, the directions were printed so small they were almost impossible to read. Once I figured out how it worked and got the hang of it I think it was quite effective. However, I would recommend clearer institutions and perhaps an online video.

This has saved me hundreds!

I have been using this for over a year and I have zero complaints. There is a learning curve but i got it within the first two or three tries. I now use it weekly and can't live without it! I used to go get my upper lip and lower lip and chin threaded and it was at least $25 each time and i would go once or twice a month. Now i use this and it saves me time and money! I absolutely love it! It is harder to use on the chin for some reason but i am able to use it perfectly for my upper and lower lip. For reference i do not have thick facial hair just about what an average woman has. It does hurt a bit but so does threading so that is just part of the package when pulling out facial hair.

It does actually work.

A bit of a learning curve (make sure the arrows are rolling IN, not out!), but once you get the hang of it it does work. Try different angles and try using the tip/sides, not the whole spring area. Used on my neck and lip, still working on the angle for my chin. The tweezers that come with it are pretty great. If you're having trouble, check out some YouTube videos (skip the Tweezerman one - it's garbage; actual user videos show how to use it much better).

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

First off the tweezers suck so lets pretend this product comes with one item. Lots of pros and cons with this little guy so grab some popcorn and bear with me bc i never write reviews and I over state everything every time i speak. So. When i first used this strange springy thingy, there was certainly a learning curve but i feel like theres multiple ways to get use out of it and if you understand the concept of springs or threading hairs then you'll pick up on it quickly. Even if you hold each handle, press down and roll the product up & out, no twisting needed, itll grab thicker hairs. Peach fuzz definitely requires twisting the handles or pulling them slightly further apart (bringing the springs closer together). After some time with the product, i was pretty confident in its ability to get the job done and it exceeded my non existent expectations. i was hooked! Lol i would use this for long periods of time as for someone who associates pain with pleasure, its quite addicting. not hours like previous reviewer but, mom life! However, not long after gracefully falling for something so unique and ingenious i too crash landed when i discovered what appeared to be lead on my hands, fingers, face, etc. Now something to note here, it was after a longer session and the handles get very warm after constantly rubbing with your fingers. I used the product once a week and noticed this after maybe 5th/6th use. But theres something crucial i hadnt even considered. Disinfecting after each use like i would with any skin care tool used on my face, fricken duh!! So for that dumb mistake alone I definitely take ownership for whatever happened and im the type of person who tries to figure out user error before bashing a company for an inferior product and I really do love this tool. So I bought a new one and now I thoroughly disinfect it before & after each use. Quick tip, use one of those tiny brushes that come with electric shavers to get invetween the springs. I also stop and give it a break when i feel its retaining heat. Its been 8 weeks and ive had no issues like before. Thank you for reading if you made it this far, i hope my experience helps!

I absolutely loved this UNTIL..

PLEASE READ!!! I got this because waxing the peach fuzz off my face leaves me with horrible acne afterward. I've been using this for a week and a half and LOVED it. I would sit and warch my shows and go over my whole face for HOURS, going in all different directions to get everything. The longest time I used it at once before last night was 2 hours (ik it's a lot). Upon my second session with it I noticed tiny silver flakes all over my face and decided to always finish up by going in with a makeup wipe to get them all off, as I didn't want to wash my face and have any flakes get in my eyes. It was a little concerning but I loved it so much I ignored it. Then last night I was so stressed with a lot on my mind, turned on my show, and proceeded to use it all over my face and the next thing I knew, I had been sitting at my vanity for 4 and 1/2 hours (ik ik). When I was finished I put it away and noticed my fingers were gray, it looked like when you write a lot in pencil and it gets on your skin. I knew it was from this device because my hands were perfectly clean when I started. I used hand sanitizer and it took many times of me using it and wiping my hands on a towel to get it off, which was concerning. I THOUGHT my face was ok as it looked like all that was on it was the silver flakes. I used cotton pads with micellar water to get the flakes off and noticed when I pulled the pads away from my face that they too were stained gray. I double cleansed my face before using it so it wasn't dirt. I am really concerned about what metal this is made from because I've NEVER experienced anything like this with any metal I've come in contact with other than my skin turning green when I wear cheap jewelry made with nickel. I'm going to contact the company and find out what's what. I wanted to include photos of the gray stuff that came off on the cotton pads in comparison with a clean one so you could see but it won't let me for some reason. Anyway, VERY disconcerting.

Better than expected!

As someone who struggles with PCOS related facial hair this has been amazing for me! I have used a lot of products over the years and this is my new favorite! The images attached are: A side by side of what it looks like after only three minutes on one side And the other is my face being mostly done at eight minutes. It can cause redness and bumps but those go away in less than an hour. It did leave a few strays but again I went quickly today and with how thick and how much area my facial hair takes I'm still very happy with this product. I must say it works better than I expected! I'm sure I'll get better use out of it the more I'm used to it!
