Cracked and Dried Out
This gel pot liner used to be a legendary budget option, but today's formula is dry and barely usable. It worked the first use, but it was mediocre. I love this gel pot! I have used it as a eyeliner & loved it but recently I have been using on my brows with a small angled brush. I have used many brow pommades & have no complaints, well not fond of ELF. This doubles as either. I haven't had any issues with it being hard to work with or hard to apply so I'm not sure why the negative reviews. It may be an issue with the brush or application used. I use a very small angled brush that is sturdy so I can apply. I tap gentle in the pot so I don't get to much & apply brush strokes in my already set brow. I actually use the same brush for eyeliner as well but I stamp it on. This isn't a gel pen & will not work that way. The brown is a rich, warm brown. The picture doesn't do it justice. The black is a very true black. This is my go too!

The next time I opened it to use it, it was completely dried out with deep cracks. Unusable. It doesn't matter how careful you are about screwing the lid on tightly.

Depends on how you use it…
I bought this wanting to use it as a dark eyeshadow base. The liner itself is rather dry, even if you wet your brush, and even if your skin is moisturized. I would not recommend this as a liner unless you use it on your waterline, which works okay. However, 2 thin layers over the eyelid before eyeshadow, gave me a pigmented and smooth eyeshadow look. At the end of the day I had very little eyeshadow smudge, and it was only in the corners of my eyes.
