Overpowering, chemical scent
I had high hopes for this lipstick as it's supposed to be long wear, had mostly good reviews and the price was right. The color was a bit off so I had to apply another lighter lipstick over it to balance it out. The texture is thick so you have to scrape off both ends of the sponge tip before applying it or you'll have a thick gluey globby mess on your lips, which will be sticky and heavy when it dries. The staying power is acceptable, but only if you're careful not to eat anything with the slightest bit of oil. The formula is not ideal for mature skin as it's drying and will accentuate any wrinkles around your lips. I can work around that by applying a bit of filler around the lip line before applying, but the thing that makes this product a big NO for me is the strong scent. It is so overpowering that I feel a bit nauseous and lightheaded whenever I apply it. I don't understand why manufacturers feel obligated to scent products so heavily and ruin it for those who have scent sensitivity or asthma. I will be returning this product and going back to my standby, Revlon Colorstay Overtime Liquid Lipstick, which is a good formula, but has limited color options.
